Yamagata Network’s Activity Report & Objective ~ Part 27

~From the blog of 6th October of the Yamagata Relief Network for Cultural Heritage~

In October, the cleaning operation in 2 universities (TUAD, YWJC) will be reopened. During September, it was held only in Yamagata University. Thanks for your support, the members of Yamagata University. Conversely, the secretariat office was apt to be lazy, and we apologise for bothering you.

On 4th October, the members of the Tohoku University of Community Service and Science will participate in the operation in TUAD, because we plan to start the cleaning operation in TUCSS before the end of October.

We appreciate you who participated in our operation, and those who will join us. We would like to advance our rescue operation little by little, but as much as possible.

[Last Week’s Activity Report]

  1. On 26th and 27th of September, we carried out the cleaning operation in Yamagata University.
  2. On 29th September, we reported our operation at the Tohoku branch meeting of Japanese Association of Museums.

[The October’s Schedule for Cleaning Operation]

Many historical materials were damaged by the Tsunami which was caused by the East Japan Earthquake. We are rescuing them, transferring them to Yamagata Prefecture, then cleaning and preserving them. Those are essential cultural properties for the devastated area to step forward into the future. We would like to ask you to participate in our activity for conserving them.
