Yamagata Network’s Activity Report & Objective ~Part46

~From the blog of 18th February of the Yamagata Relief Network for Cultural Heritage~

Introduction

The preparation for the 3.11 meeting has started. We look forward to seeing you there.

On 20th February we will resume the rescue operation in Yamagata University and Kamiyama City Northern Public Hall. Our only purpose is to pass the historical materials onto the future, as much as possible. Please give your spare time for us, even if it is just a few minutes. The operations are not only the cleaning, but distributing the pamphlets, holding the panel exhibitions, and transferring the materials and so forth.

Each operation does not require too much effort but each one in turn is very important. We appreciate it if you join our operations.

[The Information of Schedule in March]

We will have the 3.11 meeting, but the daily activities are the most important. We have scheduled our activities as follows. March is the end of the business year, so everyone will be very busy. We anticipate that many of you cannot join our activities, it may be difficult even for me, I guess. How will we make it? But we should do that. After some hesitation, the schedule became so. I think it is a nice phrase, ‘but we should do that’, in such a world that everybody looks around the place where they can be lazy. By the way, please come and join us when you are free!

  1. The materials and books are covered with dirt because they were damaged by the Tsunami. Although we pay attention to them, the responsibility will ultimately be taken by yourself.
  2.  We recommend you to apply for the Volunteers Insurance by the Social Welfare Council in advance.
  3.  Participants will need masks and clothes which will likely become dirty.
